I have a very high number of duplicate processes running in Task Manager; under "Apps", "Background Processes" & "Windows Processes". Most of them are tagged "low" or "very low" power usage but overall, still using around 84-85% of memory.

For example, under "Apps", MS Edge shows 14 processes but I've only got 4 tabs open in Edge.

Which duplicate processes can I safely end?

Thanks for your advice

It is normal for apps like Edge to spawn many sub-processes, they are multi-threaded apps that divide up the main process into sub-processes that can run ion the various cores and threads on your processor, which actually makes Windows faster.

Start your PC and do not open any apps.

Open Task Manager, then select the Performance tab, then select Memory on the left side.

Please provide a screenshot of that window.
