Accessing migrated notes After migration, users can retrieve their notes by:

  •  Opening the new OneNote on Windows application.
  • Signing into their account.
  • Opening their notebooks.
  • If any notes are missing, check the backup folder that was created in the previous steps.

To review backups through OneNote on Windows: Navigate to File -] Open Backups -] Navigate to the backup file path.

    Dear IBN,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the OneNote for Windows 10 migration. We understand how important it is to ensure all notes are successfully transferred and accessible in Microsoft 365.

Based on your description, it appears the migration script completed successfully, but the notes are not visible in the new OneNote app. To confirm data integrity, please ensure users have signed into the correct account and opened their notebooks as outlined in the migration guide.

If notes are still missing, we recommend checking the backup folder created during migration. You can do this by opening OneNote, navigating to File > Open Backups, and browsing to the designated backup path. This step often resolves visibility issues when notebooks haven’t synced properly.

Let me know how it goes, and if this answer helps, feel free to hit “Accept Answer” so others can benefit too 😊 T&B,
