How to fix error 0x800703fa

Hello guys, so i tried everything to get that update but i keep getting that error over and over again

There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800703fa)

I reinstalled the windows yesterday because it got old and now i wanted to clear it, after installing i went to do the updates and i got stuck here for almost 3 hours trying everything what i could find on google...So if anyone knows something or got an idea, please help me, Thank you !

Microsoft Standard NVM Express Driver failed to install.

Please do the following:

Download Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (MCT) from this link:

https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2265055

Run MCT and accept the license agreement.
Click "Upgrade this PC now". This starts the repair installation.

Your apps, settings, and files will be kept by default during a repair install/in-place upgrade.

hi, i did repair and wanted to do the update again and now i got a new error... There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. It's the same error code as before.

Did the repair installation run correctly, or did it rollback?

As i saw.. it run correctly i didnt see it stop or something... i can try to do it again.. it pisses me off because i need that update just for 1 app and the rest is working fine

What's the OS build number reported? Previous it was 19045.3803.

Ok, the repair install silently failed.

Please share your setup logs for analysis. The following batch file collects the setup logs and saves the zip file to your desktop.

Download setuplogscollect.bat (GitHub) and save it to the desktop.

Right-click on the downloaded file and click Properties. Click "Unblock" (if exists) and click OK.

Extract the batch file to the desktop.

Right-click on the file and choose "Run as administrator". It runs multiple commands to collect various logs. Let it complete. It outputs a SetupLogs.zip file on your desktop.

Share SetupLogs.zip on OneDrive or GoFile.io and post the download link here.

(The batch file contains plain text code. You can read its contents using Notepad before running it. It collects the setup logs, msinfo32.exe log, drivers list, boot configuration info, and the compatibility appraiser results from your system.)

Unfortunately, Panther and Rollback folders are completely empty.

Does the following folder contain any files?

Let's see. If no logs are found, then reinstall Windows to fix the problem or to generate fresh logs for troubleshooting.

I will try tomorrow to search for those logs and if i dont find them i will make a new stick for windows and reinstall it, i will post here the results.

Hi, so i reinstalled the windows again WITHOUT using a key, and chosed to delete everything and install windows 10 home.. used an application named driversbooster to download all the drivers and now it works. Thank you very much for your help!.

If you need help, please share your CBS logs for analysis. To collect the CBS logs, open admin PowerShell and run:

GCI -Path 'c:\windows\logs\cbs', 'c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log' | Compress-Archive -destination (join-path ([environment]::GetFolderPath('Desktop')) \CBS.zip)
