Authenticator lockout

I am unable to access my Microsoft account because of an issue with Microsoft Authenticator.

I can successfully log in on the web using my correct password.

I already have my recovery/authentication code and do not want to reset my account.

The issue happens when I try signing in on my device — it shows “Too many requests”, and later “Change the device – you can’t login with this device.”

I only want to restore my Authenticator access on my current device using my recovery code.
