API-M Developer Portal - API Authorisation popup not closing correctly after auth (previously working)

Hi,

I have multiple API-M instances running on the developer Tier. They are configured with oauth2 auth servers with various APIs secured by them so that users can fully use/try the API via the developer portal. A few weeks ago this worked fine - when a user selected the authorization flow, a popup is displayed, after the user follows through the auth then the popup closes and authorization header is populated for the request.

Now when a user completes the auth then the popup window just redirects to show the developer portal - it doesn't close. If the user navigates to the API within that popup window then they have to go through the same steps, i.e. another popup would open for them to authenticate. This means they cannot authenticate against the API within the developer portal and are stuck in a loop.

I'm not aware of making any changes that should or could affect this (very little, if any, changes made since I saw it working).

Is this perhaps a bug in an early release of API-M developer portal?

Thanks

Hello D-6386,

it confirms that scheduled maintenance was performed on your API Management instance (apim-altia-dev1) on:

Friday, September 12, 2025

Started at: 21:34 BST

Succeeded at: 21:47 BST

This aligns perfectly with your observation that the OAuth2 popup behavior was fixed after Friday evening. The maintenance likely included a developer portal update or hotfix that resolved the issue.
