Is there an ETA for deployment of the latest openai models in Australia?

    Hello Joel Deakin,

Welcome and thank you for posting on Microsoft Learn Q&A.

As of now, GPT-5, which was announced for deployment on August 7, 2025, is not available in the Australia East region, according to the latest Azure OpenAI Region Availability details. Currently, it’s accessible in the East US 2 and Sweden Central regions.

As for the o3 pro model, it was released on June 10, 2025, and is also not listed for the Australia East region, but it is available in other regions like West US and Brazil South.

If you’re looking for a specific timeline for these models to launch in Australia East, Microsoft has not published an ETA for deployment of GPT-5 or o3-pro in Australia East. The best way to please stay updated is to monitor the official Azure OpenAI Models page and the What’s New, as announcements about new regional rollouts are shared through these official channels.

I Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further queries.

Hello Joel Deakin, there is no official ETA from Microsoft on the availability of these models in Australia. You can keep a tab here - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/openai/concepts/models?tabs=standard%2Cstandard-chat-completions#model-summary-table-and-region-availability or through the official Microsoft blogs.
