How do I fix this error? Whenever I try to update something via Microsoft Store, this error comes up and says "Something happened on our end".

I tried troubleshooting, resetting Microsoft Store cache, resetting and repairing Microsoft Store, setting windows firewall and other relevant services to run automatically. Also, Microsoft Account Login Assistant runs automatically. 3 months ago I didn't have this problem.

Also why does one have to use Microsoft Store to update programs?

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

In short, apps installed via the Microsoft Store are updated through the Store itself. Apps installed outside the Store need to be updated manually, either through the developer's website or within the app.

    Please clarify the following:

Do you have a third-party antivirus installed? If yes, which one?

Also. What is the current version and OS Build of your Windows 11?

    • Press "Windows + R", type winver, and click OK.

If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Be sure to censor your email address if it appears. The Microsoft Q&A is public.

    I await your reply.
