Function keys not functioning correctly after laptop wakes from hibernation

After updating an Asus Creator Laptop Q OLED to Windows 11 24H2, issues with the keyboard have arisen. Previously, using Fn + Esc allowed toggling between function keys for volume adjustments and standard function keys. However, following the update, the function keys fail to operate correctly after waking the laptop from hibernation.

The laptop enters hibernation automatically after a period of sleep, but the duration for this setting cannot be configured. When the laptop is woken from hibernation, the volume control buttons function as standard function keys, resembling the behavior of F3 instead of adjusting the volume. Windows Update has not resolved this issue, and it appears that restarting the laptop temporarily restores normal functionality, though the problem reoccurs intermittently after hibernation.

Attempts to fix the issue using MyAsus or pressing Fn + Esc are ineffective until a restart is performed.

The actions associated to the function keys on a laptop are not controlled by Windows, they are always controlled by a utility installed by the laptop manufacturer, because those actions vary from laptop to laptop.

Go to the support page for your laptop on the Asus website, check if they provide an ATK driver/utility and install that to check if that resolves the problem.
