I've created a template in outlook but it doesn't automatically save a copy in sent items.
I understand you have created a local Outlook template file(.oft), but the sent item couldn't be saved when you opened and sent message based on this template, is it right? Did it occur on this template file? Could other sent messages be sent and saved normally there?
If all sent messages couldn't be saved normally, the issue may be related to your Outlook, please first check tif you have enable the "save the copies of messages in sent item folder" option in Outlook option settings instead of open message and set the (Open Outlook>click File> Option>Message>save message>check save the copies of messages in sent item folder), if you haven't check it, the message wouldn't be saved.
If the issue actually occurred on this specific template only, as I know, corrupted template file may cause it, please try to create a new template file and send message based on this file for testing.
If your issue still exists, please provide us with more information about it(such as your specific Outlook version"File>Office account>About Outlook", test results etc.)
