Stuck in MFA Loop
I am the Account Admin and Microsoft Authenticator was on an old phone which is now dead. New phone, installed with Microsoft Authenticator, but the restore hasn't put the MFA back on.
So now when I try to log into my Admin account, it asks me for me "Approve a request from my Microsoft Authenticator app". I do not have it, so I select "Sign in another way".
It then asks me to "Approve a request from my Microsoft Authenticator app", or "use a verification code." Both are exactly the same option, as they go to the same screen, asking for a code from the app. If I go to the top option, it asks me to verify a number.
Alas it says the option "I can't use Microsoft Authenticator app right now." which I select...
Only option is to "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app". Then throws an error
Who designed this POS?
Yesterday, I logged a case with Microsoft Business Support, who was a complete tool. I explained that I am locked out of the admin account as MFA is just stuck in a loop, He created a new case '2509110040012875', but had no ability to do anything other than struggle to understand each other. I doubt he even got my contact emails down, but as I can't log in, I can't even chase my own case. If I use this account to try to find the case, it says no permissions.
Today I called to check in on the case, but the auto-robot says log in to your profile to check the case, and then hangs up.
In before Microsoft Support robot tells me to do SFC /scannow command, reinstall office and try the account recovery process.
No. Just no.
