Cannot set Windows Light Mode

My Windows 11 Home automatically switches to dark mode. Every time I activate light mode, it returns to dark mode after restarting. Can you help me get it to always be in light mode?

Try running the System File Checker Utility scan.

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
2. Execute these commands one by one and click Enter for each command.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow

Once completed, restart your computer.

If the issue persists, go to Start > Settings > Windows updates > check for updates.

Ensure you have all the updates installed.

Do you have any other PC running in dark mode? So that your settings are automatically syncing to this PC?

1. First, go to Start > Settings > Personalization > Colors.
2. Choose your mode - set it to light mode.

• Then, go to Settings > Accounts > Windows Backup > Remember my preference.
• Uncheck 'Personalization' in the lists.
• Restart your computer.

Also, do you use Night Light or another monitor dimming app?

1. Go to Settings > System > Display > Night light.
2. Ensure the Night light is turned off. (also scheduled night light toggle is turned off).

I've done everything, but after restarting, it still goes back to dark mode. Do I have to clean install Windows?
