Master Data Service Upgrade Issue

Hi Team,

we are trying to upgrade our Legacy SQL Server 2012 including MDS (Master Data Service) to SQL Server 2022. But, when upgrading the MDS Database to 2022 from 2012 using 'Master Data Service Configuration Manager', facing lot of issue like 'Timeout' as the Database size is huge (over 300GB).

Is there any bet approach to migrate the MDS from 2012 to 2022?

Any pointer is very much appreciated!!!

Looking for asap response and resolution.

Sort of a tip: Microsoft has deprecated MDS, and it is not supported in the upcoming SQL 2025. So maybe the solution is to move to a different product.

Also make a note
This issue might also occur if you didn't stop and restart the MDS Application Pool in IIS when upgrading the MDS database schema. Restart the MDS Application Pool to correct the issue.
