Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I’m experiencing an issue with logging into my Outlook account on my phone. Whenever I try to sign in, I’m prompted to enter the last four digits of my phone number and a verification code. However, I can’t seem to input the code in time before receiving an error message that says the verification method is not available. I’ve been trying for two days now, and I’m unable to regain access to my account. I also don’t remember the associated email, and I’m not keen on going through lengthy recovery steps.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide to help me regain access.

Thank you for your support.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

If you see 'This verification method is no longer available' when signing in with your account, try a different verification method, such as a recovery email or Authenticator if you've added one before. You will get this error if Microsoft servers detect any unusual activity on your account or if you have made a high volume of requests during sign-in.

In this situation, you can use the account recovery form here and see if you can recover your account.

Important: The account recovery form can only be used if two-step verification isn't turned on.

Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours. If you are verified, instructions on how to log back into your account will be sent to you, and if you are not verified, you will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. You can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

Detailed steps on how to use the Account Recovery Form can be found here:

Note - This is a peer-to-peer support forum. Account or billing-related queries fall outside the scope of our community guidelines, as they usually require sharing personal information. Posting such details in a public forum poses security risks and violates Microsoft’s terms and conditions. For this reason, we can only offer general guidance on how to recover your account.

Let me know if you still need more help.
