    Hello nimk Food,

Thank you for sharing your details via private message.

I’ve reached out to the engineering team regarding the MFA issue on your account. They have now unblocked it from the backend and cleared the bad reputation associated with it. You should be able to log in to the Azure Portal without any issues.

Please try signing in and verify if you can complete SMS authentication successfully. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

As a best practice, I recommend registering the Microsoft Authenticator method for your account instead of relying on SMS. SMS and voice call authentication methods are more vulnerable to IRSF attacks (telephony fraud) and are generally less secure.

For better practice, I recommend registering with Microsoft Authenticator method to your account instead of SMS method as these SMS/Voice telecom auth methods are susceptible to IRSF attacks telephony fraud.

I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

    Hi Nimk Food,

This error (Code 399287) usually appears when Microsoft is requesting a second factor for sign-in, but the Authenticator app profile is missing, which happens if you reset your phone. Here’s what you can do to get back in:

    1. Check for a trusted device. If you’re still signed in anywhere (PC, tablet, Xbox), visit https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo from that device and add a new sign-in method (Authenticator, SMS, or email).

    2. Use Microsoft’s recovery form. If you can’t sign in anywhere, go to https://account.live.com/acsr and complete the recovery form. Provide as much information as possible (old passwords, subject lines of emails you sent, Xbox Gamertag, billing information, etc.) — this helps Microsoft verify your identity and send reset instructions.

    3. Try recovery codes. If you saved the backup recovery codes provided when you first set up 2FA, use one to bypass the Authenticator and re-enroll your phone.

    4. Security hold (last resort) If none of the above options work, the recovery process will place your account on a 30-day security hold. After that period, you’ll be able to reset your security info and set up Authenticator again.

Once you regain access, I recommend setting up two methods (Authenticator + SMS or email) and saving backup codes somewhere safe to prevent future lockouts.

    Hope this helps!
