Following up on this, the Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server in the Azure portal was earlier stuck in the Starting state. During our investigation, we applied mitigation steps, and the server is now back online.
The issue happened because the PostgreSQL server got stuck while starting due to an error in its configuration file. We also found some expired certificates and a missing configuration detail. The problem was fixed by correcting the configuration file and restarting the sidecar, which restored the server’s health and normal operation
