Scheduling and managing events using Outlook.com calendar
Hi! Viktor. Thanks for the details.
This is a known and intentional change Microsoft made, and unfortunately it’s not something broken on your end. Let me explain clearly what’s going on:
Until around mid-2023, Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 allowed you to publish a calendar as public HTML and share it with anyone, no sign-in required.
However, Microsoft quietly changed that behavior:
- The HTML “view-only” link now redirects to a Microsoft sign-in page.
- This happens even if the calendar is marked as public.
- It affects both free Outlook.com and paid Microsoft 365 accounts, so premium status does not bypass it.
This is not a bug, Microsoft deprecated anonymous web-based calendar views due to security and privacy changes in Outlook and Exchange Online.
Best regards,
Kimberly
