I recently got a new computer, running Windows 10. I installed my Microsoft Office 2013 with no problems, it ran with no problems. I have been having a problem. Every two to three weeks it stops working, I get the following error message: THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS NOT PRESENTLY CONFIGURED TO RUN THIS APPLICATION. But if I remove and re-install the program it seems to run fine, it even has the same presets, layout in WORD, calendar and address book in OUTLOOK, that I had from before. It will run fine for another two to three weeks and then come up with the same error. Any help or direction will be appreciated.

The only program that adjusts my computer is NORTON 360 and NORTON UTILITIES ULTIMATE. I run those weekly, but the problem does not occur that often. When I delete and reinstall WINDOWS OFFICE 2013 I do a complete removal from the UNISTALL PROGRAMS feature in the WINDOWS CONTROL PANEL. Then I restart the computer and install WINDOWS OFFICE 2013 from the original install disc with the key that came with the disc.

Windows usually does not have a problem with older versions of Office, even with versions that are no longer officially supported.

"Configuration" error messages may often be fixed with an Office repair, but I wonder what could be causing that error to return regularly.

Can you think of something that happens every three weeks which could possibly explain why the Office installation breaks? One thing to watch out for are those products that claim to "clean" your Windows registry. They may actually break something instead.

I have used the original MS OFFICE 2013 install disc with the enclosed key number, which I had purchased for a previous computer. Yes I know that MS Windows 10 support ends next month, but I have several programs that will not run on MS Windows 11. Some which have no WIN 11 compatible alternative.

    A new PC with win10?

Unless it has the option to upgrade to win11 you made a purchase mistake as support and any updates for win10 ends this year.

To install o2013 you need original install media and its key if you have no key it was an eligit version

o2013 support and any updates ended April 2023
