Hello,

I was redirected by Microsoft Technical Support: "Azure Blockchain Service that you see has deprecated in the Portal, Microsoft is retiring Azure Blockchain Service on 10 September 2021, based on recent changes in the blockchain industry and the growing business needs of customers, Microsoft is collaborating with ConsenSys, one of our blockchain technology providers, to offer a managed offering of their blockchain ledgers on Azure."

My question, since ConcenSys offers FULL software development suite:

  • Truffle
  • CodeFi
  • MetaMask
  • Quorum
  • Infura

what the purpose of Microsoft Azure Blockchain Workbench?

Is it to host all these tools on Azure and access them from one place (MS Azure Blockchain Workbench)?

Please provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to integrate all these tools into the MS Azure Blockchain Workbench

Azure Blockchain Workbench is a template solution to help create and deploy a blockchain application quickly on Azure. This is mainly meant to help customers with their POCs in Blockchain and is not built for production use cases.

Azure Blockchain Workbench is a collection of Azure services, there is no integration with the services provided by ConsenSys. It would be best to reach out to ConsenSys team https://consensys.net/qbs/ to know more on their plans.

Microsoft Azure Blockchain Workbench has been deprecated, with Microsoft now partnering with ConsenSys, a leading blockchain development company, to offer blockchain solutions. This shift integrates tools like Truffle, MetaMask, Infura, Quorum, and CodeFi into the Azure platform.

Purpose of Azure Blockchain Workbench Now

Azure Blockchain Workbench is no longer used for managing blockchain services. Instead, ConsenSys provides the core tools hosted on Azure, enabling developers to build decentralized applications (dApps) and manage blockchain networks more efficiently.

How to Integrate ConsenSys Tools on Azure:

    1. Set Up Azure Account: Sign up for an Azure account to start using ConsenSys tools.
    2. Truffle: Install Truffle on an Azure Virtual Machine (VM) to develop and deploy Ethereum-based smart contracts.
    3. MetaMask: Use MetaMask to manage Ethereum wallets and integrate it with your dApp on Azure.
    4. Infura: Sign up for Infura and use its API to connect your dApp to the Ethereum network hosted on Azure.
    5. Quorum: Deploy Quorum on Azure to create permissioned blockchain networks for enterprise use.
    6. CodeFi: Utilize CodeFi’s APIs for managing digital assets and financial products on Azure.

Microsoft’s collaboration with ConsenSys enables blockchain development companies to leverage powerful blockchain tools like Truffle, MetaMask, and others, all hosted on Azure. This transition simplifies blockchain development by offering all tools in one cloud environment.
