Authenticator App does not display a code for logging in to NI Direct

When I try to log in to NI direct it wants me to enter a code from the Authenticator app. When I look on the app it shows codes for 2 other sites but not one for NI Direct. I phoned NI Direct,they checked and could see no problem from their end and advised me to make enquiries about the Authenticator app.

Did you add NI Direct to your app. If not it won't create codes.

I can only offer what seems to be available on the NI Direct website and it's part of the account setup using 2FA. (two factor authentication)

https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/identity-assurance#toc-6 I don't know anything about their process so perhaps you should contact them again to see if you are setup correctly to use an authentication app. It suggests you can use Google Authenticator as an example.

I did what I assume is similar for PayPal and had to enable the app use in my PayPal account first.
