How to redeem code

I purchased a code for Microsoft Office 2024 professional plus since my subscription to 365 had expired. I attempted multiple times to redeem the code on setup.office.com but once I enter the code and English, and press redeem, I get an option to download 64 bit or 32 bit and either way, it leads to “service unavailable”.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Before installing, it’s a good idea to uninstall any existing versions of Office to avoid conflicts.

    Here’s how:

    • Open the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Look for any version of Microsoft Office or Office apps, right-click, then choose Uninstall.
    • Once that’s done, restart your computer just to be safe.

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft 365:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your subscription.
    • Find your Microsoft Office 2024 Professional Plus and click the "Install" button.
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" button still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    John J.D.

Thank you for letting me know.

The offer you purchased is most likely not a genuine Microsoft retail license. Office Professional Plus is only distributed to organizations through volume licensing, so when it’s sold on third-party sites like Groupon, the keys are often unauthorized and can end up not working at all.

The safest way forward is to request a refund from Groupon and avoid trying to install from that code, since it won’t link to your Microsoft account and could stop working unexpectedly.

If you want a legitimate version tied to your Microsoft account, you can either:

I know this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but I’d hate for you to spend more time on a product that isn’t going to work properly.

Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
