How do i enable minecraft multiplayer?

When i try and join minecraft multiplayer the box says it is disabled and to check my Microsoft account settings. I have checked everything, my account has everything enabled in including the "you can play multiplayer games" setting but when i into minecraft the multiplayer box still has the same message. I have tried reinstalling and restarting but nothing has worked. How do i fix this?
