An Azure managed PostgreSQL database service for app development and deployment.
Hi Nikhil,
this means your Azure subscription is part of a Cloud Solution Provider program, and the Neon Postgres offering in the Azure Marketplace has restrictions that prevent it from being deployed to CSP subscriptions. This is a common limitation with certain third-party services in the marketplace.
Check if you have access to a different Azure subscription that's not part of the CSP program. Many organizations have both CSP subscriptions for production and direct Enterprise Agreement or pay-as-you-go subscriptions for development work. Try deploying to a non-CSP subscription if available.
You could also reach out to Neon's support team directly. They might have alternative deployment methods or be able to whitelist your CSP subscription if you have a legitimate business need. Sometimes the vendor can make exceptions for specific customers.
Another approach is to use the native Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server instead of the Neon offering. While it's not exactly the same as Neon's serverless Postgres, Azure's flexible server has similar capabilities and definitely works with CSP subscriptions. You might also want to contact your Microsoft CSP partner. They sometimes have workarounds or alternative solutions for marketplace offerings that are blocked for CSP subscriptions. They manage the relationship with Microsoft and might be able to help.
If you're specifically needing Neon's features, consider deploying directly through Neon's own platform rather than through Azure Marketplace. This would mean managing billing separately from your Azure costs, but it would bypass the CSP restriction entirely.
For immediate needs, the Azure PostgreSQL flexible server is probably your best bet. It's fully supported in CSP subscriptions and gives you similar serverless-like capabilities with the right configuration.
