Change Journals & remote disks/nas/etc

Hey

I'm working on an asset management system and I'm in need of watching about 1-20mil of files.
The files can be located in various places, starting from window local disk, to attached USB ones all the way to NAS/ZFS/etc...
I take that Change Journals will work fine on a local disk & maybe usb/attached disks to the system that windows "owns"... but will it work on nas/zfs/etc/etc?

Should I be looking at this task in terms of a dual system solution? 1 for windows 1 for nas/other?

    According to Change Journals, It seems Change Journals only work with the NTFS file system.
