I have this user in Microsoft — it can access all resources except portal.azure.com, where it asks for the authentication code twice.

This user is the owner of the Azure subscription.

If I delete this user from Azure (using another admin account), will the ownership be automatically transferred to another user?

    Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

No, ownership will not transfer automatically. Before deleting the user, assign another Owner at the subscription level and transfer billing ownership manually.

    Best practice before deletion:

Assign another user as Owner at the subscription level. Azure Portal → Subscriptions → Access Control (IAM) → Add role assignment → Owner → Select user.

Transfer billing ownership (if applicable) via: Cost Management + Billing → Billing profiles → Access control → Add or change billing owner.
