MS 365 Basic Doesn't provide Full Office Apps Functionality...

I already have MS Office on my old laptop... Can I move it over to my new pc instead and get refunded for the 365 Basic I just purchased?

You can cancel your plan, but your plan still works til it expires.

But if it was purchased by mistake, and you meant to order a different plan for example, sometimes chatting with support and explaining to them, they might make an exception for you. It is their decision to make, and I am only here to advise, but cannot speak on their behalf.

Hello, well it does have Office 365 online, but not full functionality as expected.  Can I get a Refund on the 365 Basic to apply towards a one time MS Office 2024 purchase?

That's correct, Microsoft 365 Basic is for 100GB OneDrive storage only. It doesn't come with office apps. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/microsoft-365-basic/cfq7ttc0ktxs

If this was purchased by mistake, you would need to contact support, explain to them and see if they allow you refund. But you need to cancel it first via https://account.live.com > Subscriptions.

On your computer, launch the Get Help app from the start menu, then type in Refund as the keyword. On the next page, you can click on "Contact support" button. Then fill out a few more details and you will be directed to the page where you will have the option to chat with a live support agent.

As for transfering your Office apps from the old computer. Is it a subscription or a one-time purchase?

Do you still have access to the old computer? If so, go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps, locate it and uninstall it first.

Then on the new computer, Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account linked to the Office. Then click on Apps on the left.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.
