Dear all,

Whenever I started Windows, a text editor appeared. May I know how to get rid of it?

    Hi, good day!

    • When was the last time it worked properly?
    • Have you made any changes to your computer recently?

Please try the following methods below.

    • Please try to scan your computer for any virus or malware.

Please try to scan your system using Microsoft Safety Scanner or the free edition of Malwarebytes.

    Microsoft Safety Scanner

    • Please try to check your startup folders

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type:

    shell:startup

Hit Enter. If you see any text file (like .txt, .cmd, .bat, or .vbs) listed there, delete it or move it elsewhere.

    • Open Task Manager

    Select Startup apps

Look for any strange entries or text editors (e.g., Notepad, WordPad).

Right click it then select Disable

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.
