Hello,

I’m experiencing recurring BSODs with the bug check string SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, caused by driver FLTMGR.SYS with crash address ntoskrnl.exe+3379d9.

My system specs:

  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi
  • OS: Windows 11 - 24H2 (build 26100.6725)
  • CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KF (3.00 GHz)
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeoForce RTX 4080
  • RAM: 2x Corsair 32GB DDR5-5600 (2800Mhz)
  • SSD: Corsair MP600 GS and SAMSUNG SSD 980 PRO 1TB

What I’ve tried so far:

Updated all drivers and BIOS

Fresh Windows installation

  • Removed Google Chrome (previously a trigger when streaming multiple videos)
  • Removed any additional antivirus software

Currently, the BSODs occur most often during gaming.

To investigate further, I used BlueScreenView to analyze the minidumps, but I’m stuck interpreting the hex parameters and cannot link them to specific hardware.

Before replacing expensive components like RAM or SSD, I’d like to better understand how to pinpoint the root cause. Any guidance on next steps or tools to use for deeper debugging would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with this hardware or driver?

Thank you, Nicola

Please upload any minidump files you have, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so I can take a look for you.
