Keyboard issue: a lot of my keys aren't working, i have reinstalled my driver and the same keys aren't working — not due to physical damage.

System Model: HP EliteBook 840 G5

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

Even if it feels like a software issue, the fact that a key fails in UEFI almost always means the keyboard module or its ribbon cable is failing or the embedded controller (EC) firmware that handles the keyboard is in a bad state.

Hello! Gbotemi. Thanks for the details.

Boot your laptop into BIOS, as soon as the HP logo appears, press esc or f10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.

Try typing into any text field, if similar keys aren't functioning, that's a hardware or firmware issue already.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly
