When i try to log on to certain websites I get a the prompt to choose a passkey to log in. User's image

The problem is that non of them work. I have never set one up or asked to use it, and do not want to use it.

I have logged in to my Microsoft account, navigated to Security - Manage how I sign in, and removed all of the options that i listed above. I have also turned off Passwordless account.

On my desktop i opened Settings - Accounts - Sign-in options - Security key - Manage. When i press Manage I get a Windows Hello setup with "Insert your security key into the USB port" I DON'T HAVE ONE!

I have also, on my desktop, Settings - Accounts - Passkeys and from there tried to delete them but I always get "This passkey can't be deleted because it's required to sign in to this device."

How do I go back to just use my password?

    Hi,

I get how annoying it is to be asked for a passkey you never set up. What’s happening is your device is offering Windows Hello or browser-based passkeys as login options, even if you didn’t choose them, it’s built into how modern browsers and Windows handle secure sign-ins.

To fix this, first check your browser’s passkey settings and remove anything saved. Then go to Settings then click Accounts then Sign-in options and turn off Windows Hello features like PIN, fingerprint, or face.
Also, open Credential Manager from Control Panel and delete any saved web credentials related to those sites.

Quick question, are you signing in to your PC with a Microsoft account or a local account?
That helps me know what steps we can take next to fully remove the passkey requirement.

Let me know and I’ll guide you through it.
