I2C HID Device (This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed.)

Hi,

Touchpad cursor on my Acer Aspire has only been showing intermittently, and I managed to diagnose the problem to be my I2C HID Device today. I've been trying to install a different driver on to it (using a plugin mouse), but when I try to pick an available driver I can only see the current installed corrupted one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi ,

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

Then perform a clean boot and if you want to uninstall applications that you do not use.
