Latest windows update gets undone halfway through installation

Vijayalakshmi K 1 Reputation point

My laptop, Dell Vostro 14, is a 64-bit system with Intel i3 processor running Windows 10, version 21H1, Os build 19043.1165
I got a windows update this morning, and I restarted the system to install it. Half-way through, installation stopped and said " couldn't complete the update/install and undoing changes". The undoing was successful though.
This is actually the second time this has happened, with the first one on 18th Sept (Saturday). I dont know why the update couldn't be installed on my system and am sorry I couldn't note down the update details.
Can I have an answer to this? I am eager to get this fixed because Windows 11 will be out and I suppose users will get multiple updates en route to it.
