So we've installed windows 11 with a clean install. No problem in that part. Usb is unplugged. It boots as it should on the os.

But the bsod happens during updates part, when it asks for an internet connection. The pc will reboot and we have to start over.

I'm in the steps right after having installed the os through a bootable usb, where it asks for my language, my kind of keyboard (qwerty or other) and then the updates happen. Only afterwards would it ask me to log in,but it can't since the problem is that updates result in a bsod.

As said, don't ask me to do things that I could do only when windows is fully set up, because it's not.

Disconnect your PC from the internet. Then a local account will be used for you to finish setting up Windows 11 (We will try workarounds). And pausing the updates right away is what I can recommend. Making sure that the PC is not yet connected to the internet.

Updates can be optional, your PC can still really work without those, and you can manage how your PC gets the updates. Unless there is a block, that you need to setup an account or do an update before you get to use your machine.

Can you still access the desktop? Or the BSOD is still happening before you can login?

If you can access the desktop, you can instead stop the updates manually via services.msc > look for the following:

    • Background Intelligent Transfer
    • Windwos Update

Click Stop. Then right click each of the service mentioned above > click Properties > Recovery tab > Set the first, second and third failure to "take no action" > hit Apply and OK.

    EDIT:

If the installation of Windows 11 is unfinished due to the frequent BSODs due to updates. Then you might have to repeat the whole process of reinstalling Windows 11 but this time, disconnect it from the internet. Apologies for the confusion.

Pausing windows update isn't something I can do, since it's the updates that happen after being done using a bootable usb and before having access to the desktop. As per the screenshots I sent, it's installing every updates. The thread you shared is off-topic by consequence.

There can't be any faulty driver, since as said, it's a clean installation of windows 11 and it bsod while installing updates.

Edit : a driver could be faulty, my bad, but it's something I can do nothing about since it's an unskippable part of setting up windows

    Hi Diva,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Can you share the specs of your machine/laptop or desktop?

Based on your description, disabling the Windows Update or pausing it can be a temporary workaround that we can do.

There is a similar thread here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/3893343/frequent-kernel-model-heap-corruption-bsod?page=2#answers

Was resolved by a faulty driver. We need the dumpfiles from your PC to analyse where the issue's root cause.
