Why is my Office subscription missing basic functions

Hi --- I am now using a subscription to MS OFFICE at home. I find that many basic functions, in Word, are not available. So far I am lacking a way to insert a Text Box, or define a specific area that I want to be in a column format. These are simple, basic functions that I have always had as part of word. I am guessing that there are many other things missing ---- but have just started using it.

It is functioning like a very basic version ----- unlike what I am used to using through my own workplace.

Is there anything else I need to set up for this to function properly?

Thank you,

Heather

    Hi Heather,

See https://addbalance.com/word/download.htm#MicrosoftWordPrograms. This is a pdf.

I am guessing that you are using the online/web app rather than the desktop application.

If you have Office 365 personal or family subscribed, go to your account page and download the desktop applications. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/download-and-install-or-reinstall-office-365-or-office-2019-on-a-pc-or-mac-4414eaaf-0478-48be-9c42-23adc4716658If you subscribed to Office 365 Basic, all you get is the web version.
