Hi I recently upgraded to windows 11 25H2 and everything was going fine until I recently had an update from yourselves. The update in question is 2025-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 11, version 25H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5070773) (26200.6901) . And Just to clarify all other previous things people have said to do like chk dsk, system scans, drive cleanouts and other stuff simply hasn't worked.

And if its spec related here's a list of mine

Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5500 (3.60 GHz)

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Windows specs

Edition Windows 11 Home

Version 25H2

Installed on ‎9/‎10/‎25

OS build 26200.6584

So please if any one knows what to do with this whether to just wait it out or find some alternatives I will be thankful.

    Hi, good day!

I recommend performing a repair installation via Settings or using the ISO should fix the CBS error 0x800f0983.

Open Settings > System > Recovery.

Few things to check on the PC

    • Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
    • Disable or uninstall any third-party Antivirus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

Under Fix problems using Windows Update, click Reinstall Now

Once completed, your system will restart.

Alternatively, you can use the Windows 11 ISO by following the steps in the link below.
