I saw that Microsoft is extending the esu for all windows 10 users for one more year according to the consumenten bond here in the Netherlands and am very happy with this extension.

Thank you for letting me know.

Microsoft has already stopped selling Windows 10 Pro licenses directly. However, you may still be able to purchase a legitimate copy from authorized retailers or resellers, though prices can vary depending on availability.

As for the Extended Security Updates (ESU), these are typically offered through Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs) or volume licensing partners, and the cost depends on your region and licensing terms.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

The reason you’re unable to do so is that Windows 10 Education isn’t eligible for the standard ESU program, which is designed for consumer editions like Home and Pro.

Since your Education license was obtained through a university, you would only have access to updates through your institution’s licensing. If you’re no longer a student, that eligibility ends, which means you wouldn’t be able to enroll in the institutional ESU program either.

If you still want to receive security updates, your best option is to upgrade to Windows 11 (if your device supports it) or install Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise, which can then be enrolled in the ESU program.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.
