A Microsoft offering that enables tracking of cloud usage and expenditures for Azure and other cloud providers.
Hello nuage compte,
We understand that you’re working on some proofs of concept with Azure and have some questions about plans and subscriptions.
Correct, for you POC, either the Developer or Basic support plan should be sufficient, and neither plan directly affects your Azure quotas.
- Basic is fine if you're comfortable troubleshooting using docs and community forums.
- Developer is helpful if you want access to Microsoft engineers during business hours for technical issues.
- Standard is designed for production workloads, not needed for testing or POCs.
Support plans do not control quotas like:
- Number of subscriptions
- VM cores
- Resource limits
If you hit a quota limit, you can request a Quota Increase
- Go to Azure Portal > Help + Support > Create a Support Request
- Search "Quota" and select subscription limit(quota) > Create a Support Request
- Fill all the required information and submit the request.
Regarding your concern about implementing four to five subscriptions, you are right that with a pay-as-you-go subscription, you might be limited to the number of subscriptions you can create. In such cases, you have two primary options:
- Request a Quota Increase: If you find you're routinely exceeding the limits, contacting Azure support to request a quota increase for subscriptions might be a viable route.
- Review Billing and Offers: You might want to explore different offers or plans like the Azure savings plan or others that might better fit your needs and allow more flexibility.
