Hi everyone.
I'm currently using surface pro 7+ and it works well. However, recently I got worried about the end of supporting this device bcs I just have 1 year until the end of supporting from Microsoft. Also, I am wondering that can I use this device after 2027 without any issue like being crashed or ... ?

Now, I don't know which way is the best?
1- Just work with my device until It doesn't crash or until I really need a high-end one

OR
2- Buy surface pro 11 in order to stay update and use a high-tech surface!

I have doubt about it since my own surface which is pro 7+ works well, but I am nervous about decreasing its price in the year 2027.

I'll appreciate your help

    Amin,

You said "Actually, bcs one my relatives has Surface pro 3 he said that after Microsoft stopped supporting his device, step by step after a while its performance has been decreased and now he cannot use it since it crashes easily, and also he cannot sell it with a good price bcs his device is totally outdated. To wrap it up, Although my surface pro 7+ is doing my job, but I'm afraid of to having the same problem as my relative has.

From your view, Will I be able to use my Surface in the future, like 2029 or more? Or it will break and it will be much cheaper..."

No one can tell you for certain what to expect in 2029 and onward. The battery may have reached end of life, and Windows itself may have new features not supported by older devices. No one can predict if something else will "break". My own SP7+ has about 40% battery capacity left and I'm using it now as a test machine. The SP7+ launched in 2021 and won't be something that can be sold on the used market easily in 2029 and beyond.

Bottom line, this is a decision you need to make yourself as no one here can predict the future.

    Thanks for reaching out, Amin.

    Here's what you can consider.

Your Surface Pro 7+ won't get driver and firmware updates after January 15, 2027. It can still get Windows updates if it's compatible, but hardware fixes will stop.

Your device won't suddenly break. If it works now, it should be good for basic tasks even after support ends. You just won't get new features, faster performance, or security improvements.

The Surface Pro 11 is a big upgrade with Snapdragon X Elite or Intel Core Ultra chips, an optional OLED screen, AI Copilot+ features, and longer battery life. It's made for future Windows and supported until 2030 or 2031, depending on the model.

If your Pro 7+ is doing the job, keep using it. If you want the latest tech, especially for work, upgrading to the Pro 11 gives you longer support.

    Regards,
