I paid for a lifetime Office Home and Student Microsoft 365 account. And I also am paying for a Microsoft Basic 365 account. Do I need both and why?

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

You likely don’t need both a one-time purchase Office Home & Student license and a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription. The Office Home & Student version is a one-time purchase and gives you lifetime access to the apps on that device, while Microsoft 365 Basic is a recurring subscription that mainly adds OneDrive storage and Outlook email features.

In most cases, the subscription isn’t necessary if you’re only using the Office apps, so you can likely cancel Microsoft 365 Basic to save money.
