PLEASE HELP I ATTACHED THE SQL SERVER REPORT ERROR. I WAS TRYING TO INSTALL SQL SERVER 2022 ON MY DESKTOP

The message Wait on the Database Engine recovery handle failed is a generic error that means that SQL Server did not start when Setup wanted to run configuration steps. To understand why it did not start, you need to look in the SQL Server errorlog, which you find in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS04\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG.

If you see a message about 256 misaligned reads, you are running into a known issue where Windows 11 for some disk drives reports a sector size that SQL Server does not cope with. Microsoft has published an article with workarounds for the problem.

If you don't see the message about misaligned reads, feel free to upload the errorlog here, so we can look at it. You will need to rename to ERRORLOG.txt for the forum software to accept it.

You are indeed subject to the disk-sector issue, so that article should set you straight. Note that you need to reboot after having made the registry edit.

I note, though, that your errorlogs are from yesterday, so you may running into a different error. This seems to often happen when people make multiple attempts and do some random cleanup in between.

Can you attach your more recent version of detail.txt?

1.The log shows unusual startup parameters like -m "SqlSetup" and -q "Korean_Wansung_CI_AS". Are these intentional? If not, please try to remove it.

No, they are by no means unusual for this situation! These are exactly the options you see when Setup runs SQL Server to configure it.

-m is for single user mode, SqlSetup reserves the instance for this particular application. -q is to change the server collation to the one the user chose during installation.

Apart from that, we have no single idea why things does not work for RYU, since we don't have any recent log files. What we do know is that RYU was subject to the disk-sector problem at one point. But we don't know if that is still the case. That is, RYU may not have followed the instructions correctly, or there may be some other problems.

We would need to see newer log files to be able to help. Just making random suggestions about do this or do that is not helpful at all, because those could lead to that RYU messes up the situation even more.
