Hello,

I’m building a Copilot Studio Agent–based hiring assistant for our the talent acquisition team.

Goal / Scenario:

  • When a Teams meeting invite is sent for a candidate interview, the Copilot agent should be included in that meeting.

During the interview, the agent observes the conversation through the Teams meeting transcript.

  • After the interview ends, the transcript is processed automatically, and a record is created in Microsoft Dataverse with fields such as:
    • Candidate Name
Interviewer Name Role / Job Title Candidate Analysis Summary Candidate Rating (Good / Average / Poor) Notes or key highlights from the interview

What I’ve done so far:

I have a Copilot Studio agent created.

I can add it to Teams.

I’m exploring Power Automate flows to detect new transcript files in SharePoint/OneDrive and send those to the agent for analysis.

What I need help with:

Is there a way to embed or invite this Copilot Studio agent directly into a Teams meeting (similar to the built-in Copilot) so it can observe and analyze the conversation automatically?

Can the built-in Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams be customized or extended to trigger my Copilot Studio agent or Power Automate flow for analysis?

What’s the recommended architecture to automate the flow — from transcript generation to analysis to storing results in Dataverse?

Any guidance, best practices, or documentation links on connecting Copilot Studio, Teams, Power Automate, and Dataverse for this hiring assistant scenario would be very helpful.

Thank you!

1. Can you embed/invite a Copilot Studio agent directly into a Teams meeting to observe and analyze the transcript?

No, Copilot Studio agents cannot be directly invited as meeting participants or “observe” live conversations in Teams meetings like the built-in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Copilot Studio agents are not designed to join meetings or access real-time audio/transcript streams automatically.

2. Can the built-in Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams be customized or extended to trigger your Copilot Studio agent or Power Automate flow?

No, the built-in Microsoft 365 Copilot cannot be customized or extended to trigger external Copilot Studio agents or Power Automate flows.

It is a closed system and does not expose extensibility hooks for custom post-processing.
