It works now, so I successfully created Azure SQL Server in East-US2 as I initially planned. I have no explanation why all my attempts failed yesterday. Perhaps I did something wrong.
Can't create Azure SQL server via Azure portal
I attempted to create an Azure SQL (logical) server via the Azure Portal in the East US 2 region and immediately faced the following error:
Your subscription does not have access to create a server in the selected region. For the latest information about region availability for your subscription, go to aka.ms/sqlcapacity. Please try another region or create a support ticket to request access.
Then I tried East US - no luck, West US- same error. I ended up trying all US locations and none of them allows me to create an SQL server there.
I have a pay-as-you-go subscription, and I’m the owner of this subscription.
I wonder if that behavior is expected?
