I could transfer emails to a different account within New Outlook a week ago. Why can't I now?

When I first went to New Outlook, I was unable to transfer emails from one of my email accounts to the other. I was told that that capability would be added soon. Eventually it was, and I have been using folders in both of my two accounts easily. As of last week I can no longer do so. It's a feature I use often, and I would be very disappointed in Microsoft if it is taken away. Also, many of your links to help are not working - I get an error message.

The answer above has been quite useless for a single individual user. When I ask Google how to access my OWA Mailbox Policy, the instructions are mind-boggling. I have no admin to give this information to. Could you please give me some simple step-by-step instructions as to how to fix this problem. I have Windows 11, Microsoft 365 on my Dell laptop, trying to use New Outlook. I liked Classic Outlook much better, but had to give it up because it wouldn't let me add one of my email accounts. Perhaps that has now been fixed and I'm better off going back to that. But please give me some help or advice.

    Hi Ruth,

Microsoft added cross-account moving in June 2025, but for work or school mailboxes the feature is controlled by an Exchange Online policy and is off by default. If it worked for you and then stopped last week, your organization likely flipped that policy back off, or one of the two accounts you are moving between is a work or school mailbox where the policy was never enabled.

The fix is for your Microsoft 365 admin to enable the ItemsToOtherAccountsEnabled setting in your OWA Mailbox Policy for both the source and the destination mailboxes, then wait a short while and restart Outlook. If you are not the admin, forward this note to your IT so they can switch it back on.

About the broken help links in New Outlook, there is a quick in-app setting that usually resolves it. In Outlook select Settings > General > Files and links, then set Open hyperlinks from Outlook in to Default browser and try again.

Let me know if this works for you please.

I hit WindowsR for the " run" box, typed Set-OwaMailboxPolicy and got the following error message Windows cannot find Set-OwaMailboxPolicy
