I received a threatening email in my alternative email address. The email address the person used was a Microsoft address and they threatened to send images of me to every one of my contacts through WhatsApp. I don't use WhatsApp and this individual also asked for money. The subject of the photos they threatened to send don't even exist

This is a well known scam known as the Pegasus Scam, the sender spoofed the senders address to look like your own Email, then they indicate they have access to your Email PC and data, and demand a crypto-currency payment,

This is just a scam, they do not have access to your account, PC or data, you can safely ignore and delete that Email, do not interact with the sender.
