Every 2 weeks or so outlook will not let me log in and I have to change passwords not by choice but it's the only option outlook gives me. Tonight again. I have been working on some documents all day and had no issues logging in into my accounts till late in evening, I entered password as have been doing all day and locked out... Changed password and tried signing in with new password and again locked out and had to change password again. Only option. Changed password again and still will not let me login????

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Are you experiencing this issue when signing in to the Outlook desktop app or when accessing Outlook.com?

    • Open an Incognito tab on any web browser.
    • Sign in to Outlook with your Microsoft account here - https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/
    • See if you are able to sign in.

If you're having issues, try an alternate method to sign in instead of using your password.

That is, after typing your email address (username) and on the next screen where it asks for your password, select "other ways to sign in."

Get the verification code via an alternate email address or phone number, then sign in.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with Outlook continually prompting you to change your password and locking you out of your account. This can happen for a few reasons:

    1. Stored Credentials: If you have previously saved credentials in Outlook, they might not be updated when you change your password. This can lead to repeated prompts for your password. To resolve this, you can try removing the stored credentials:
      • Go to Control Panel > Credential Manager.
      • Find the credentials related to Outlook and remove them.
    2. Logon Network Security Setting: If you are using an older version of Outlook, check the Logon network security setting in the Microsoft Exchange dialog box. It should be set to Anonymous Authentication to prevent issues with authentication prompts.
    3. Updates: Ensure that your Outlook is updated to the latest version, as updates can fix bugs related to authentication and password prompts.
    4. Diagnostics Tool: If you are using Microsoft 365, you can run the self-diagnostics tool to identify and resolve issues related to password prompts.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult with your IT department or Microsoft support for further assistance.
