Please contact me urgently on Removed for privacy as I cannot get the Authenticator app to raise a code.

This is critical to accessing some documents on line.

Many thanks your prompt response and attempts to assist.

Having eventually found the chat and followed the instructions (which were no different to online) they were no able to resolve the problem.

Sadly, the service provided was far from satisfactory.

I'm not sure where to go from here. Anybody know of IT assistance in the Exeter Area?

It needs direct assistance from someone at Microsoft.

    personal account - outlook.com

Thank you for letting me know.

Microsoft Support agent will not be of any help, they will likely recommend you to try the Account Recovery Form and Sign-in Helper Tool, if you haven’t tried it already.

I just want to be upfront, Microsoft Support agents do not have direct access to accounts.

    Contact Microsoft Support:

Use another personal Microsoft account you currently have access to or one you can create:

    • Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
    • Type this keyword and press Enter: Contact Support.
    • At the bottom, click "Sign in to contact support" and sign in with your Personal Microsoft account (Not work or school account) you currently have access, or click "Contact Support" if you're already signed in.
    • In Product and services, select "Other Products".
    • In Category, select "Billing and Account Profile questions".
    • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

Thank you for letting me know.

I understand. Just to help point you in the right direction, is the account you’re trying to sign in with a personal Microsoft account (like Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, or Live.com), or a work or school account provided by your organization?

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

When signing in, make sure to click "Send notification" this should trigger the Authenticator app to show the pop-up.

If there's no pop-up notification, expand the notification area and check for any from Microsoft Authenticator "New sign-in request for your Microsoft account".

If you don’t receive the notification after clicking "Send notification", you can try troubleshooting the Microsoft Authenticator app using the steps in this guide from Microsoft: "Troubleshoot problems with Microsoft Authenticator" https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/troubleshoot-problems-with-microsoft-authenticator-a3a74493-566b-4c2e-b949-a2789bac0fd3

Let me know how it goes. Or if you have any further questions or concerns.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.
