    Hello Brandon,

This issue usually happens because Office isn’t properly activated or is stuck on an old license. First, open Word and go to File > Account to confirm the activation status, if it shows “Subscription Expired” or “Unlicensed Product,” sign out of all accounts, close Office apps, and sign back in with the Microsoft account linked to your subscription.

Next, update Office by going to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now, and if the problem persists, run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to fix activation issues automatically. Also, check for multiple Office installations and uninstall duplicates, then perform an Online Repair via Settings > Apps > Microsoft Office > Modify > Online Repair.
