missing emails

In emails, when you have a full folder and do not know it is full, but have transfered emails to it and they dissappear, where do they go? Can I get them back?

They can sometimes end up in hidden places like the Sync Issues or Lost and Found folders if you’re using Exchange or IMAP. If the move failed completely, they might have been deleted, so check Recover Deleted Items under the Folder tab in Outlook. Another good step is to search your entire mailbox using keywords from those emails—they might still be in another folder.

If you were using a local PST file and it’s full or corrupted, the emails could be stuck in the data file, and you can try repairing it with ScanPST.exe (Inbox Repair Tool).

If emails disappear after transferring them to a full folder in Outlook, they may not be deleted but could be filtered out from view due to the folder's view settings. To recover them, you can check the filtering options in the folder settings. Here’s how to do that:

1. In the ribbon, select the View tab.
2. In the Current View area, select View Settings.
3. Select Filter, and review the tabs for any selections that could be filtering out specific messages.

If the emails were deleted, they might be in the Deleted Items folder or the Recoverable Items folder, depending on how they were removed.
