Hi, so im trying to install Epic Games and when I go to Install it gives me an error names: SU-BV05. It told me this error can be caused by attempting to install on a FAT32 formatted drive or by a hardware failure of your hard drive or RAM. I recently updated my drivers and everything to try and see if that fixed it, but it didnt. I dont know what else to do?

The SU-BV05 error when installing Epic Games can be caused by several factors, including the file system format of the drive or hardware issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this error:

    1. Check Drive Format: Ensure that the drive you are trying to install Epic Games on is not formatted as FAT32. If it is, consider reformatting the drive to NTFS, as FAT32 has limitations that may cause installation issues.
    2. Run Hardware Diagnostics: Since the error can also be related to hardware failures, run diagnostics on your hard drive and RAM. You can use built-in tools like Windows Memory Diagnostic for RAM and check your hard drive's health using tools like CHKDSK.
    3. Update Drivers: Although you mentioned that you recently updated your drivers, ensure that all relevant drivers, especially for your graphics card and storage controllers, are up to date.
    4. Free Up Disk Space: Ensure that there is enough disk space available on the drive where you are trying to install the software.
    5. Reinstall Epic Games Launcher: If the issue persists, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Epic Games Launcher. Sometimes a fresh installation can resolve underlying issues.
    6. Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts: Disable any antivirus or firewall temporarily to see if they are causing conflicts during the installation process.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Epic Games support for further assistance.

    Hi ,

If it is a laptop or desktop, if possible, could you provide the laptop model or your desktop configuration?

To see the model, you can type msinfo32.exe in the Windows search bar, take a screenshot and post it here.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Access Disk Management in the search bar, take a screenshot and post it here:

If possible, try installing Epic Games through the Microsoft Store.
