I just opened my laptop when I received a notification from Windows Security that I had "threats" in my laptop. When I checked, there were 2 threats all named "VulnerableDriver:WinNT/Winring0". Is there any fix to this? Because when I tried removing them, they keep coming back.

That notification does not indicate there is malware on your PC, it indicates you most likely have some software/utility installed that has an old or vulnerable driver installed as part of the software on your PC, in that notification, does it indicate the name of the driver that is being flagged, if so, please provide a screenshot of the notification.

"VulnerableDriver:WinNT/Winring0" refers to a driver that has been identified as vulnerable, which means it may have security flaws that could be exploited by attackers. This specific driver is associated with the WinRing0 driver, which is often used for low-level hardware access and can pose security risks if not properly managed.

If you are receiving repeated notifications about this driver, it indicates that Windows Security has flagged it as a potential threat due to its vulnerabilities. To address this issue, you can take the following steps:

    1. Update or Remove the Driver: Check if there is an updated version of the WinRing0 driver available from the vendor. If not, consider removing it if it's not essential for your system's operation.
    2. Use the Vulnerable Driver Blocklist: Microsoft has a vulnerable driver blocklist that can help prevent the loading of known vulnerable drivers. Ensure that this feature is enabled on your system to enhance security.
    3. Check for Malware: Sometimes, malware can disguise itself as legitimate drivers. Run a full system scan with Windows Defender or another reputable antivirus program to ensure your system is clean.
    4. Consult Microsoft Resources: For more detailed guidance on managing vulnerable drivers, you may want to refer to Microsoft's documentation on driver security and the vulnerable driver blocklist.

If the problem persists after taking these steps, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
