Hi,

I found in the link https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/08/31/windows-11-available-on-october-5/

The link says, Today, we are thrilled to announce Windows 11 will start to become available on October 5, 2021. On this day, the free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will start to become available for purchase.

Once it’s update will be available for my computer, can I stop upgrade of my Windows 10 computer?

Current version of my Windows 10 computer is 21H1.

The link https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-home-and-pro and https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-enterprise-and-education say, The end date of Version 21H1 is Dec 13, 2022.

As October 5, 2021 is very near. That’s why we can expect that 21H1 will be the last version of Windows 10.

If I can stop upgrade to Windows 11, can I get all updates of Windows 10 till Dec 13, 2021?

With Regards
NndnG

General statement and mean no offence

Maybe Microsoft should offer a prompt to disable auto-upgrading without having going to a third party or end user manipulation until the end user is ready.

Microsoft should also stop assuming emigrating to newer or better which usually I found "break things" like hardware drivers, applications, etc. Which in a lot of situations to the end user is mission critical and where upgrading is unnecessary. I get that there are possible security risks however there is also risk management.

This also applies to hardware and Microsoft attempting to force you into new hardware when there is absolutely no reason in most cases to do so. Again, there are third party solutions to bypass TPM and some other requirements to allow the end user upgrading to Windows 11 should they wish to do so. We have several computers that have hardware that exceed the minimum requirements to run any operating system other than TPM.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

    I believe,

    1. Yes you can stop update of Windows 10 once your OS upgraded to Windows 11.
    2. If you stop Windows 11 upgrade and if you are still running Windows 10 then yes you will also get Windows update regularly.

Windows 10 will continue to be supported till 2025, the end of support you mentioned is for the build and it means the support for this build will be ended and you would be able to upgrade to a new build for Windows 10.
Your Windows won't be upgraded to Windows 11 automatically and you will need to perform action unless if you are in a company and your IT administrator enforce the upgrade.
